Aston Fence School has a duty to refer to Social Services and/or the Police, any actual or suspected concerns of child abuse.  Within school, Mrs Dawson is the 'Designated Safeguarding Lead', and Mrs Finn and Mrs Naidu are the 'Deputy Safeguarding Officers'. There is a policy which outlines the steps to be taken, should abuse be suspected or alleged. The policy follows the procedures approved by the Rotherham Area Safeguarding Board, of which the DfE is a member. A copy of the procedures is held at the school.

The Rotherham Safeguarding Children Partnership (RSCP) website provides information on radicalisation for children and young people, parents/carers and professionals www.rscp.org.uk

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child, or need advice/information out of normal working hours, please call the NSPCC helpline on

0800 800 50000 which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
